Entomological surveillance of arbovirus circulation is carried out in Senegal in 2 sentinel sites (Kedougou and Barkedji) during the rainy season.
The objective of this program is to monitor the circulation of arboviruses, pathogens for humans and / or animals (yellow fever (YF), dengue (DEN), West Nile (WN), Chikungunya (CHIK), Zika ( ZIK), Rift Valley Fever (RVF) in relation to the biodiversity of vectors and to determine and analyze their transmission cycles. He is also interested in the circulation of potentially pathogenic arboviruses but still considered "minor" and in equilibrium in their natural ecological niches, it has been carried out on the privileged sites of circulation of these viruses, namely Kédougou and Barkédji, respectively, since 1972 and 1990.
