BIRDY Multicenter Research Program on Bacterial Infections in Newborns and Young Children in Resource-Limited Countries. Severe bacterial infections are a cause of death in children under the age of five, and especially during the first week of life. The main thing of BIRDY is to become infected with neonatal and multi-resistant infections and their consequences in 3 countries: Senegal, Cambodia and Madagascar. In Senegal, the NAFY project: NAtt Febaru tut tank Yii (assessment of diseases of toddlers) concerns 600 children included in urban (Guédiawaye) and rural (Sokone) areas. These children benefit from home monitoring and medical care in the event of suspected infection until their 1st birthday.
